The Tinius Olsen aggregate test equipment measures and evaluates the physical characteristics of fine and coarse aggregates for asphalt and concrete mixes. The size, shape, density and strength of mineral aggregates all affect the long-term performance of asphalt and concrete pavements and structures. The right testing equipment ensures that ASTM, AASHTO and ISO standards are met for building materials testing.
In addition to our standard suite of aggregate tests, our specialist department includes a large shear box instrument (30mm square) capable of determining the effective angle of friction parameters of soils and aggregates by direct shear to the methods described in BS 1377 as well as Highway Works (600 Series, Clause 636). Both methods are A2LA and UKAS accredited.
