Cables

slider1

Cable testing is used to determine the mechanical properties of insulating and sheathing compounds to ascertain the tensile strength and elongation measurements.

The tensile strength of a material is the amount of force required to pull that material to the breaking point. Elongation is the measure of the length to which a material can be stretched before breaking.

Tinius Olsen’s versatile bench top universal testing machines can perform many materials test routines that meet ASTM, ISO and other international specifications, including tensile, compressive, tear, peel, flexural, puncture, shear and frictional resistance tests.
